Refuse biological, cultural, spiritual, linguistic, and aesthetic theories that make Blackness a defect to be corrected.
Why it matters
Anti-Black rule repeatedly presents domination as evidence of natural incapacity. Black nationalist thought reverses that causal story: dispossession and controlled institutions produce many conditions later cited as proof of inferiority. The doctrine therefore rejects claims that African people require white supervision, that Black language is defective, that Black communities are incapable of organization, or that European appearance and culture represent a universal summit. This is not an excuse for avoiding internal standards. It is the prerequisite for creating standards that emerge from Black interests rather than contempt for Black existence.
Practical example
A school punishes African American language as evidence of low intelligence. A pro-Black response teaches command of multiple registers while recognizing Black speech as systematic, historically produced, and culturally meaningful.
Failure test
Correction built on contempt reproduces the domination it claims to solve.
