Raise Black Children in Conscious Peoplehood

DOCTRINE SYNTHESISCore ConsensusDoctrine p. 41

The standard

Give Black children affection, protection, accurate history, cultural confidence, discipline, and preparation for collective responsibility.

Why it matters

Every generation must be taught that Blackness is inheritance and obligation, not stigma. Children require more than exposure to heroes. They need language for understanding racial power, models of competent Black adulthood, knowledge of Africa and the diaspora, practical skills, and a community that expects them to contribute. Conscious upbringing must not become fear-based indoctrination or contempt for other peoples. Its aim is to prevent Black children from entering hostile systems without identity, historical memory, or a constituency to whom they feel responsible.

Practical example

A household combines family history, African and diasporic reading, financial education, community service, natural-hair affirmation, conflict skills, and regular participation in Black institutions.

Failure test

A people that does not intentionally educate its children leaves their identity to institutions with different interests.
